Editorial Standards
Our editorial process is built around accuracy, clarity, attribution and meaningful context. Writers should distinguish verified facts from interpretation, use primary material where practical and avoid overstating what a source proves.
Labelling
Articles should be assigned an accurate content type such as News, Analysis, Opinion, Fact Check or Satire. Satire and parody must carry prominent disclosures.
Attribution
Material facts that depend on external reporting, documents, data or statements should be attributed in a way that allows readers to understand their origin.
Updates
Material corrections should be documented transparently rather than silently changing the record when the change affects the substance of a story.
